Vera Ann Mccormick

Vera Ann McCormick, 69, of Bruce passed from this life on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS in Oxford. Born on July 6, 1952, she was a daughter to the late Ira Parker and Clara Gable Parker.

Vera Ann was a 1970 graduate of Bruce High School. Aside from her life as a woman of honesty, she loved hunting and fishing when the weather was right. When she wanted to relax she could be found turning the pages of good book.  Above all her hobbies she cherished her grandchildren the most. Although Vera Ann has departed from our lives, her treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of her loved ones.

She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: husband John Ell McCormick of Bruce; one son Archie (Stacy) McCormick of Bruce; one daughter Niki Hillhouse of Bruce; four grandchildren: Connor McCormick, Colt McCormick, Jesse (Kaylyn) Hillhouse, and Kylie Hillhouse; one great-grandchild Maddie Claire Hillhouse; one brother Douglas (Cherri) Parker of Bruce; and one sister Teresa Parker of Calhoun City.

Vera Ann was preceded in death by her parents Ira Parker and Clara Gable Parker and one son Kevin “Biggon” McCormick.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service remembering Vera Ann’s life will take place Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Logan and Bro. Wayne Cobb officiating. Kennon Ferguson, Jesse Hillhouse, Tim Earl McCormick, Kadon Murphree, Heath Parker, and Kraig Smith will carry her to rest in Rocky Mount Cemetery.
