Vernon Lorance Drake

Vernon Lorance Drake, 78 of Horn Lake, Mississippi passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at his residence in Horn Lake,
MS.
Born Tuesday, September 7, 1937 in Bruce. He was the son of the late Vernon "Bill" Drake and the late Ruby Russell
Drake .His first wife who preceded him in death Mary Ellen Drake and a brother Winfred Drake.
He was retired from Memphis Hardwood Flooring and also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
His many hobbies was fishing, hunting, and gardening.
He attended Colonial Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Syble Wilson Drake of Horn Lake, a step-daughter: Mitzi Atchison "Danny" of Southaven, three
step grandchildren: Kristen Wright "Stephen", Lauren Stone "Eric", and Katie Atchison "Hunter McDonald"
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Manning
officiating. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Garden, Calhoun City, MS.
Pallbearers will be: Danny Atchison, James Drake, Hunter McDonald, Mike Russell, Eric Stone, and Steve Wright.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, 476
hwy 9n, Bruce, Mississippi.
