Wanda Jean Braddock, 74, of Houlka, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, just days shy of her 75th birthday. Born on March 31, 1950, in Calhoun City, MS, Wanda filled her years with love, creativity, and devotion to her family and community.
In October 1966, Wanda married the love of her life, Carl Braddock, at Splinterback Baptist Church, beginning a journey together that would last nearly six decades. The couple shared a deep bond and a commitment that inspired all who knew them.
Wanda was a talented seamstress, dedicating her skills to Kellwood and later to Glenn Slacks, where her meticulous craftsmanship left a lasting impact. Beyond her work, she cherished her time at home, indulging in gardening, sewing, and exploring her love for arts and crafts. She found joy in cooking for her family, always ensuring that her home was a welcoming sanctuary filled with warmth and love.
Wanda's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Carl Braddock, Sr. of Houlka, MS; her sons Carl D. Braddock Jr, of Houlka, MS and Christopher Braddock of Houlka, MS; her daughter Amanda Braddock of Houlka, MS; and her cherished grandchildren: Jerri Griffin, Chase Braddock, Michael Braddock and Carl "Buck" Braddock III. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Aubree Griffin, Chloe Griffin and Collin Rutherford, each holding a special place in her heart.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father William Raymond Jones; her mother Dorothy June Beck Jones; brothers: Wayne Jones, David Jones and Johnny Jones, and a sister Phyliss Orr.
A graveside service will be held in her honor at Mt. Moriah Cemetery on March 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember and celebrate Wanda's remarkable life, a life filled with love, kindness, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
