Wanda Daniel Hurst, 88, of Pelham, Alabama, passed from this life on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. Born on September 17, 1933, in Pontotoc County she was a daughter to the late Ernest Ovee Daniel and Ruby Idell Grist Daniel and the step-daughter of Odein Daniel.
She was a 1949 graduate of Bruce High School and a 1979 graduated from the University of Mississippi’s College of Banking and Finance. She was the retired branch president of Farmers and Merchants Bank in Bruce. She was not only a devoted member of Bruce United Methodist Church but also Bruce United Methodist Women. Aside from her church involvement, Wanda was a charter member of the Bruce Lioness Club and past member of the Financial Women International Club.
Those left to continue walking down the path of life in her absence include: one son James Danny (Phyllis) Alldredge of Pelham, Alabama; three sisters: Patricia (Kent) Sims of Flower Mound, Texas; Jewel Dean (James) Roberts of Liberty, Mississippi; and Ernestine (James Bailey) Caviness of Calhoun City. Mississippi; three grandchildren: Daniel (Amy) Alldredge of McComb, Mississippi; Amanda (Josh) Mitchell of Trussville, Alabama; and Austin Alldredge of Calera, Alabama; two great grandchildren: Jay Alldredge and Breah (Cody) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband James A. "Buddy" Alldredge of almost twenty years before his passing;husband William Ottis Hurst of forty two years;her parents Ernest Ovee Daniel and Ruby Idell Grist Daniel; and her stepmother Odein Daniel.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 06, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Sunday, February 06, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Darrell Logan and Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Donnie Paul Cain, Jeff Ferguson, Mark Ferguson, Louie Grist, Phillip Pettit, Tony Ruth, and William Ruth will carry her to rest in Bruce Cemetery. Ryan Beckett, JoAnn Denley, Cliff Easley, Jr, Sam Hamblin, Jeff Irland, Jim Irland, Judd Irland, Mike Jones, and Robert L. Logan will serve the family as honorary pallbearers.
