Wilborn Delane Johnson, Sr., 85 died on Friday, August 29, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
He was born December 20, 1928 in Sarepta, Mississippi; He was the son of the Jessie and Girtie Bonds Johnson.
He served in the Army and received several awards for his Service: Bronze Star, Army Commendation, and Good Conduct Medal. He served Tours of Duty in Korea, Germany, and Vietnam. He was a Member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He was a member of Sarepta Baptist Church. He enjoyed Gardening, Fishing and Hunting, an Avid Fan of Atlanta Braves Baseball, Tennessee Titans and Ole Miss Sports.
Surviving are: His Wife: Martha Sue Edwards Johnson of Banner, MS, Four Sons: Wilborn D. (Deb) Johnson of Gulf Breeze, FL, David Van (Wanda) Johnson of Olive Branch, MS, Larry Wayne Johnson of Water Valley, MS and Randy Edward (Tara) Johnson of Peachtree City, GA; 10 grand children; 6 great grand children.
He was preceded in death by His Parents, Three Brothers: Walter Johnson, Frank Johnson and Marvin Johnson,Four Sisters: Bernice Coston, Kathleen Hines, Opal Harrigan and Dorothy Nash.
The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with
the Bro. Keith Benefield Officiating and Bro. Larry Wicker Assisting. Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery, Bruce, MS.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Bruce, Mississippi.
