William Fred Vanlandingham, age 91, of Vardaman, MS, passed away at his home in Vardaman March 9, 2026. He was born on November 9, 1934, in Vardaman, MS to Juit Lee and Monnie Mae Vanlandingham. 

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Fred served his country honorably, exhibiting the bravery and commitment that defined his life. He spent many years working as an auto mechanic and enjoyed repairing and tinkering with vehicles. A simple man, he enjoyed gardening and working around his homestead. He also liked researching topics on his computer and staying up to date with modern-day news. He dearly loved his pets.

Fred leaves behind a loving family, to continue walking down the path of life in his absence, son, Richard (Angela) Vanlandingham of Cordova, TN; grandchildren Tyson (Melanie) Vanlandingham and Taylor Vanlandingham, great-grandchildren Amara Vanlandingham and Noah Vanlandingham, and his cherished siblings: sisters,Dorothy Murff, Joyce Mayhugh, and Betty Lee, and brother Charles Vanlandingham. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Vanlandingham; parents, Juit Lee and Monnie Mae Vanlandingham; two brothers: James Vanlandingham and Jerry Vanlandingham.

A Graveside service honoring Fred's life will be held at Midway Cemetery in Vardaman, MS, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate William's life with Bro. Fred Hartley officiating. Stacy Hawks, Jason James, Craig Williams, Charlie Vanlandingham, and Richard Vanlandingham will serve as pallbearers. 

The Staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the Vanlandingham family as they begin this new season of life. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
