Willie Ree Spencer, 88, of Vardaman passed from this life on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She graced this world with her presence on March 24,1934, in Vardman, as one of four children born to the late Lonzo and Annie Mae Ramage Mitchell.
Willie Ree spent an expansive fifty-three years married to her late husband, Grady Ruble Spencer, before his passing in 2016. Her pride and joy was her family, she provided for them by working in the manufacturing side of the furniture industry. When retirement called Willie Ree’s name she not only spent her golden years relaxing with a fishing pole in her hand but also passing the time with a crossword puzzle. She never let meeting with her brothers and sisters in Christ fall to the wayside, in fact she worshipped alongside the flock of believers at New Liberty Baptist Church faithfully until her health began to fail.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; two sons: James David Long and his wife Juliette of Vardaman; William Lonzo Spencer and his wife Jeanette of Hickory, Mississippi; one daughter, Geraldine Alford of Pearl, Mississippi; seven grandchildren: Anna Fleming, Bubba Fleming, Matt Long, Cody Long, Joel Spencer, Dakota Alford, and Erin Spencer; ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Grady Ruble Spencer; parents, Lonzo and Annie Mae Ramage Mitchell; three brothers: Alvia Lee Mitchell, Charles Wayne Mitchell, and David Mitchell.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at New Liberty Baptist Church in Vardaman, MS. The funeral service honoring Mrs. Willie Ree's life will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at New Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Harmon officiating. Jamie Hill, Spencer Hill, Cody Long, Matt Long, Wade Mitchell, and Joel Spencer will carry her to rest in New Liberty Cemetery.
